About Siesta Key Beach and where to go from the book
Siesta Key Village has a multitude of different types of restaurants, bars, shops, and ice cream parlors. I get asked all the time if there are any restaurants on the beach, that overlook the bay, the answer is no, unfortunately. But there are still great places to get a bite to eat near the beach. For breakfast, my favorite place is called Sun Garden Cafe. Sun Garden Cafe has been voted the number one breakfast restaurant in Sarasota for six years, now. From the decor to the food served, you do not want to miss out eating here while you are visiting.
There is a smaller restaurant called “The Cottage.” The food is fantastic. They have lobster rolls, which are my favorite. They also have a little garden in the back of the restaurant outside, where they have live music on most nights and it’s a nice lounge area to hang out while waiting for a table or a place to grab drinks and listen to great live music. If there is a wait, which there most likely will be, just wait and enjoy the atmosphere. It will be well worth the wait.

There is a small aquarium, which I have mentioned above, called “ Mate Marine.” Here you will find all different types of sea life. They have manatees, dolphins, and turtles that they have rescued from the gulf. This is a great place to bring the kids while visiting.
